NewSmith Financial Products provides institutional clients with independent investment and advisory services related to highly structured financial instruments, complex asset portfolios and other specialist financing issues.

The Firm focuses especially on work-outs of collateralised debt obligations (CDOs) and on financings driven by events such as privatisation and M&A. Recent assignments include CDO workouts involving sub-prime securities and restructuring of structured investment vehicles (SIVs) and non-traditional asset-backed commercial paper (ABCP) conduits.

NSFP and - prior to NSFP's formation in 2007 - its sister company, NewSmith Financial Solutions, have led CDO work-outs and other complex financing mandates worth in excess of $5 billion, in addition to pure advisory assignments.

NSFP's partners and employees are highly experienced in identifying value across capital structures, offering expertise in structured credit and derivatives, distressed and other secondary debt markets, structured finance origination, tax, accounting and law. In addition, the team has in-depth industry knowledge of specific sectors such as infrastructure, transport, telecoms and energy.
