is based in London and led by Steve Thompson, formerly team leader
of Merrill Lynch Investment Managers’ (“MLIM”) UK Specialist Equity Group. Steve is joined by
former MLIM colleagues Richard Milliken and Mark Wharrier, together with Jeremy Davies,
previously with Clareville Capital. The portfolio managers each have substantial investment
experience in UK equities and have enjoyed a close working relationship for over a decade.
Will Piercy assists the team on company research and analysis. Wayne Davis is the team’s dealer.
Their investment approach is research-driven, with a strong emphasis on stock picking, coupled
with a thematic overlay. The portfolio managers have extensive corporate contacts which they
have built up over many years.
The team manages both long-only and long-short equity portfolios, which are structured to
benefit from the team’s proven skills and experience in the UK equity market.
