Ron Carlson

Ron has over 30 years’ experience in financial markets. Prior to joining NewSmith, Ron was Managing Director, and Chief Administrative Officer for Merrill Lynch Europe PLC located in London. In this position he was responsible for several management and administrative functions including the region's Country Management. He was also Chairman of the Regional Operating Committee and a member of the Regional Executive Management Committee.

Previously, Ron was Head of Corporate Strategy for Merrill Lynch Europe where he played a key role in the growth and development of the European businesses through acquisitions and organic growth. He joined Merrill Lynch in 1992 as an investment banker where he had senior banking responsibilities for a number of the largest U.K. corporations.

Prior to that, he worked for nearly 15 years with The First Boston Corporation in New York and London specialising in capital markets, investment banking, and mergers and acquisitions. Ron holds an M.B.A. from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. from The University of Vermont.
