Founding Partner
Check Low, who manages NewSmith's Asia Pacific offices, has over 20 years experience in the securities
industry in Asia. Prior to founding NewSmith, Check was a Senior Vice-President and Member of the
Executive Management Committee of Merrill Lynch & Co., as well as their Chairman for Merrill Lynch Asia Pacific.
Check has served as an independent director on the Singapore Exchange (SGX) Board since 20 July 2000, and
was appointed Lead Independent Director in May 2006.
He also sits on the Boards of Fibrechem Technologies Limited, a Singapore listed company and AWAK Technologies Pte. Ltd.
Check graduated from the London School of Economics (LSE) with a Bachelor of Science (Economics) (First Class Honours)
in 1983 and a Master of Science (Economics) in 1984.
