Matthew Weir
Head of Risk and Control, London
Matthew Weir is Head of Risk and Control for NewSmith Asset Management, responsible
for risk measurement, management and control processes across all NewSmith funds.
He was formerly Head of Risk and Control at Brevan Howard Asset Management, where he
was responsible for establishing risk reporting and control infrastructure across a
number of different hedge fund strategies. Prior to Brevan Howard he worked at Credit
Suisse First Boston as risk manager for the global interest rate products and European
money market divisions.
Matthew has a BSc (First Class Honours) in Mathematics from Southampton University, and
qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen in 1994.
