Ian Coombey
Head of Compliance
Ian Coombey is Head of Compliance for NewSmith Capital Partners and is responsible for compliance
arrangements within the NewSmith Group.
Prior to joining NewSmith, Ian was the Head of Compliance (Advisory) at Old Mutual Asset Management
Limited, providing general compliance advice to the business. Before this he was a senior compliance
manager in the group compliance function of Merrill Lynch Investment Managers.
Ian has a BSc Honours in Pure Mathematics from St Andrews University. He qualified as a Chartered
Accountant in 1987 and as an investment analyst in 1992.
