Gordon Dunn
Private Equity Portfolio Manager, London
Gordon Dunn has over 12 years' experience in the banking and securities industry and as a
securities lawyer, including nine years with Merrill Lynch in London, and has significant
experience in private equity as well as public and privately structured equity linked transactions.
Prior to joining NewSmith, Gordon was Co-Head of the Merrill Lynch European Private Equity Group
from 2000 to 2002, after which he set up his own independent private equity advisory business in
2003. In these roles Gordon had responsibility for raising capital for both private equity funds
and private companies on a pan-European basis. Prior to joining the Private Equity Group Gordon
was Director of Merrill Lynch Equity Capital Markets, and Global Equity Linked Products responsible
for public as well as private equity and equity linked financings in the Eastern European and
Middle Eastern emerging markets.
Prior to joining Equity Markets, Gordon was in-house counsel of Merrill Lynch Europe focusing
primarily on equity markets and equity derivatives. Gordon began his career as an associate at
the law firm Morrison & Foerster, where he advised on a number of mergers, acquisitions and
securities offerings. Gordon has received a Bachelor of Arts, with distinction, from Stanford
University and a JD from New York University School of Law.
