Prior to joining NewSmith in 2004, Gordon Dunn had over 12 years' experience in the banking and
securities industry and as a securities lawyer, including nine years with Merrill Lynch in London.
He has significant experience in private equity as well as public and privately structured equity
linked transactions.
Gordon was Co-Head of the Merrill Lynch European Private Equity Group from 2000 to 2002, after which
he set up his own independent private equity advisory business in 2003. In these roles Gordon had
responsibility for raising capital for both private equity funds and private companies on a pan-European
basis. Prior to joining the Private Equity Group at Merrill Lynch, Gordon was Director of Merrill Lynch
Equity Capital Markets, and Global Equity Linked Products responsible for public as well as private
equity and equity linked financings in the Eastern European and Middle Eastern emerging markets.
Prior to joining Equity Markets, Gordon was in-house counsel of Merrill Lynch Europe focusing primarily
on equity markets and equity derivatives. Gordon began his career as an associate at the law firm
Morrison & Foerster, where he advised on a number of mergers, acquisitions and securities offerings.
He has a Bachelor of Arts, with distinction, from Stanford University and a JD from New York University
School of Law.
