Ed Johnson

Ed Johnson is an analyst for NewSmith's Resources and Energy strategy.
He has eight years of experience in the oil, gas and energy sector. Prior to joining NewSmith,
Ed was a Vice President in the Energy & Power group at Merrill Lynch, responsible for M&A,
equity and debt origination across the sector, specialising in mid-cap and FSU transactions.
Before Merrill Lynch, he was at Barclays Capital in London, where he worked in the Energy &
Utilities team. He also worked within the oil and gas team at ANZ Bank, specialising in small
and mid-cap coverage and commodities-linked origination.
Ed holds an MA in Jurisprudence from Oxford University.
