NewSmith Capital Partners provides alternative and traditional asset management services to corporate, institutional and government clients, together with pension funds, foundations, family offices and high net worth individuals.

We are owned and controlled by our partners, who co-invest with clients in the Firm’s asset management strategies.

Our founding partners - Michael Marks, Paul Roy, Stephen Zimmerman, Check Low and Ron Carlson - were formerly senior executives with Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc., bringing with them a strong record of building and managing major financial services businesses over the past thirty years.

Our first fund manager, Steve Thompson, joined NewSmith from Merrill Lynch Investment Managers in February 2004 and established the firm’s inaugural investment strategy in UK equities shortly afterwards. Since then we have expanded the portfolio management team, launching additional sectoral and regional strategies in Europe and Asia.

From inception, NewSmith has focused on delivering performance to our clients from a robust operating platform and a strong capital base.

The Firm had 65 partners and employees at 30 June, 2009.
