Our founding partners, all recognised leaders in their respective fields, worked with each other over many years prior to establishing NewSmith Capital in 2003.

Our principal operating entity is NewSmith Asset Management LLP and our first investment strategy (UK Equities) commenced in 2004. This was followed by Global Macro, Credit, Asian Equities, Japanese Equities, European Equities and Resources & Energy over subsequent years.

We also invest in Private Equity, as part of our Global Opportunities strategy, and make principal investments on our own account. All of our portfolio managers have strong and established track records in their specialist areas.

We are an international business and made an early commitment to the Asian region by opening an office in Singapore in 2003. Subsequently we opened offices in Hong Kong (2005) Tokyo (2006) and New York (2006).

Our firm is controlled and majority-owned by the partners and we are co-investors in the asset strategies that we manage for our clients. In this way we seek to ensure the closest possible alignment of client/firm interests, supported by robust risk management discipline and operational infrastructure.
